How To Find Tax Number Using On The Amazon Merch Account?
Because most of account Sonny supply come from USA and Europe. So the solution will be divided into 2 type of account’s country.
If Your Account's Country Is USA
Step 1: Check the email Sonny deliver account to you –> Open the excel file in the attachment & see it has column SSN/TIN/ Tax Number or not.
If has, note it, and read the session “How To Update Tax On Amazon Merch Account?” down below to update tax.

If Your Account's Country Is Europe
Step 1: You will log in to Amazon Merch account normally. On the menu, click “Your account” then click “Manage your account” & you will go to the session “Creator Information”.
From here, you will know the name, address & country of account information.
Step 2: Open new tab, search “Kindle Direct Publising (KDP) Amazon & access.
Click “Sign in” and log in with information you log in Amazon Merch.
On the dashboard, look on the menu and click “Your Account”
On the “My Account”, It look like setting Amazon Merch, you will input information like Amazon Merch setting showing to you at step 1 above.
Add bank like Merch, but make sure you use different bank account number. I usually recommend to use Pingpongx bank account number so you can go to Pingpongx, request another bank USA, It will give you another USA bank account number to add.
And lastly, click “Save & Continue”.

- Step 3: Check Tax Number
After you have input account detail & bank account, click save.
The session “Tax Information” will show up picture like above.
Click “View Detail” and It will show you the format of tax. As you can see it show last 4 number.
Format here: XXXXXX7921
As the Europe account, Amazon not able to detect the Europe tax. So you will random choose the tax number with the format it provided.
Such as: 2094817921
How To Update Tax On Amazon Merch Account?
Step 1: Now, you have the tax number already. Let’s go to tab Amazon Merch On Demand & update tax.
Step 2: Click Update Tax Profile
- Input detail:
- What is your tax classification: Individual or Business (Base on the name of your account, it is name of person or company LTD.)
- Are you a US citizen?: Choose “Yes” if your account is USA country. Choose “No” if your account is Europe country.
- Are you acting as an intermediary agent,…?: Choose “No”
- Full name: Input name of account (Not input your name).
- Country of citizenship: Choose country of account information.
- Permanent address: Input address of account information in step 1.
- Mailing address: Click “Same as permanent address”
- Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN):
- I have a Non-US TIN: Choose this one if it is Europe country, then input the TIN value
- I have a U.S. TIN: Choose this one if it is USA country, then input the TIN value
Step 3: Click “Save”
To Sum Up: Update Tax On Amazon Merch Is Not Hard As You Think
So that is how to solve the problem with tax. Mail update tax is send to seller every year. You do not have to worry much.
While you choose that tax number to input, make sure you save it and do not forget, you will need it to update again after few years later.
